Aging‑in‑Place Consulting & Design

Safe. Smart. Designed for Life.

As we age, our needs change, but that doesn’t mean we need to leave the homes we love. Aging in place is the process of making thoughtful modifications to a home so individuals can live safely, comfortably, and independently for as long as possible—without sacrificing style or functionality.

At All In Construction, we specialize in aging-in-place design and renovations that blend accessibility with custom craftsmanship. Whether you're planning for your own future, caring for aging parents, or supporting a loved one with changing needs, we’re here to help you create a space that works for every stage of life.

Our team combines construction expertise with real-world understanding of home safety, mobility, and accessibility challenges. From barrier-free showers and widened doorways to non-slip flooring and smart home features, we tailor every solution to your goals, budget, and timeline.

Located in Sioux Falls and serving surrounding communities, we’re proud to help families stay in the homes they love, safely and beautifully.

Benefits of Aging in Place

  • Aging in place starts with staying safe, without giving up control.

Falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults, and most happen at home. By making targeted safety upgrades like grab bars, slip-resistant flooring, zero-threshold showers, better lighting, and wider doorways, homeowners can reduce risks and keep living independently.

    Things to consider:

    • Is the bathroom layout safe and accessible?

    • Are there trip hazards like stairs, rugs, or poor lighting?

    • Can key areas like the kitchen, laundry, and entryways be easily accessed?

With our experience, we’ll help you make changes that improve daily life, without making your home feel like a hospital.

  • Investing in your home can cost far less than moving into a facility.

Assisted living in South Dakota can cost $3,500–$5,000+ per month, and long-term care homes are even more. Aging in place upgrades are often a one-time investment that can add value to your home and help avoid future costs.

    Education + considerations:

    • Remodeling for accessibility can pay for itself in less than a year compared to assisted living costs

    • You retain equity in your home

    • Modifications can increase resale value, especially in multigenerational or accessible-home markets

We can help you choose smart upgrades that add safety and value without overbuilding or overspending.

  • Make changes today that you won’t outgrow tomorrow.

Future-proofing your home means designing with tomorrow in mind—so it adapts with your needs as you age. The key is making modifications that feel intentional and stylish, not clinical.

    Design elements include:

    • Walk-in showers with seating and handheld showerheads

    • Lever-style door handles and touchless faucets

    • Wider hallways for wheelchairs or walkers

    • First-floor bedroom or laundry access

    • Smart home automation (lighting, locks, thermostats)

Good design doesn’t just meet ADA checkboxes, it enhances your lifestyle now and for years to come.

  • Aging in place supports families, too.

When a home is safer and easier to navigate, adult children and caregivers worry less. Aging in place reduces stress, unnecessary transitions, and the emotional toll of relocation.

    Things to consider:

    • Will loved ones be confident you’re safe at home?

    • Can your space support visiting caregivers or family?

    • Is your home ready for emergencies or medical needs?

We can help assess how your space supports both daily living and long-term care planning.

  • Stay surrounded by memories, routines, and the community you know.

Moving to a facility can be emotionally disruptive. Aging in place allows people to stay in familiar surroundings, maintain their routines, and keep social connections intact, key factors in mental and emotional health.

    Did you know?

    • Studies show seniors living at home report greater happiness and life satisfaction

    • Familiar settings support memory and reduce cognitive stress

    • Pets, neighbors, and community ties play a critical role in quality of life

Home is more than four walls, it’s your sanctuary. We help preserve that without compromising safety or comfort.
